The Story
Why did you start your business?
I was tired of searching for modest clothing that didn't look like it was designed as an afterthought. I wanted pieces that made me feel powerful and beautiful — not like I was hiding. When I couldn't find them, I decided to create them myself. Every piece I design is the piece I wish I could have found in a store.
What was the biggest challenge you faced?
Convincing people that modest fashion could be modern and luxurious. There's a misconception that modesty means plain or boring. Breaking that perception — both in the market and within my own community — was the hardest part. But every time a customer tells me they've never felt more confident, I know it was worth it.
What are you most proud of?
The community we've built. It's not just about selling abayas — it's about the women who message me saying they finally feel seen. Last year we hosted our first pop-up event and over 200 women showed up. That moment — seeing a room full of women celebrating each other — that's what Noor Collective is really about.
What's one thing you wish people knew about your business?
Every single piece is designed, cut, and inspected by me personally. This isn't mass production. It's a labor of love. When you wear Noor, you're wearing something that was made with real intention and care.
